Jawline Implants in West Hollywood
Having a side profile that lacks a defined jawline can have an impact on your self esteem. A weak or recessed jawline can be distressing to an individual causing self esteem problems which affect one’s personal life. There is a way to achieve a sharper more defined face and a more prominent chin and jawline. To have confidence in the appearance of your jawline, you may want to consider a jawline implant as a solution.
WHAT IS IT?
A jawline implant also known as genioplasty, refers to the improvement of the contours on the face, specifically the chin, neck, and jawline. Usually, this surgical procedure involves the placement of a jaw implant around the patient’s existing jaw bone to adjust the size and shape of the jaw. Implants that are placed underneath the skin typically are made of silicone or polyethylene.
The goal of the implant is to create a more natural contour between your facial features and your neck. This contour offers a way to create more balance to your features. When performed by a skilled cosmetic expert, this solution to your features is permanent.
What To Expect After Surgery
After any surgery, it is very common to have swelling during the healing process. Depending on your body’s reaction to surgery, staying in the hospital can vary by how many days.
The procedure will be followed by detailed doctors instruction and care information. Sometimes this will include water and food that are safe to consume on the regime that you are assigned. Painkillers will also be offered as a form of pain management after your procedure. When taking any prescribed medication, special care should be taken to follow instructions and warning signs on painkillers. Another pain management solution that can be used is a cold compress. This may also reduce swelling on your jaw.
Smoking and doing strenuous activities is not good for the healing process. Another thing to consider when you are healing from your jaw implants is your sleeping patterns. To minimise swelling it is important to keep your head elevated and to sleep facing up.
